Description: This beautiful embossed floral watercolor print is by Houston, Texas artist Patricia Hagstrom. Patricia Hagstrom is known for her paintings with sculptural effects (embossing) and silk screen coloring. Patricia earned a masters degree in fine arts degree from Dominican College in Houston, then pursued advanced art studies in Florence, Italy. She now works in two-dimensional mediums in her Houston studio, and her work is included in many private and corporate collections throughout the United States and Europe. From her biography, "Whether it is a cluster of sea shells or the steel beam of an oil rig silhouetted against a broad Texas horizon, the silk screen graphics of Patricia Hagstrom dramatize the spiritual affinity of man and nature." This custom framed print features a beautiful embossed floral branch with two peachy-pink colored flowers and beautiful green leaves. The background is a creamy ivory color. This wonderful print was part of an estate, and I don't know the exact age, but would estimate 1980's based on the color scheme and frame style. The outer matte is mauve colored, inset with a deep green border inner matte (see photos for detail). It is framed with a solid light colored wood frame that features a beaded millwork interior border, finished with elegant antique ivory stain. There is a label on the lower right corner of the picture from "Ocean Graphics, Graceville, Florida", the shop that originally framed this print. It measures about 13 3/4 inches tall and is 13.5 inches wide (framed), almost square and a nice medium size. The print itself is in very good condition - no stains, spots, holes or tears. The matting is in great condition with no spots, holes, cracks or tears. The frame has some very minor scuffing, consistent with age and normal wear, but is also in good condition. The paper covering the mounting on the back of the board on the back of the piece has a few small dings but is still sturdy and tight and the hanging bracket is securely in place. The glass is in good condition - no chips or cracks. See photos for more details.
