Since then, the two have not only worked together again and again, but they have a close acquaintance. Stefan Moses' strength was undoubtedly the portraits of his fellow human beings, his first important client was Stern magazine. Unlike many other German photographers of his generation, he was not so keen on traveling. He was a home photographer in the best sense of the word. Stefan Moses was born in Liegnitz (Lower Silesia) in 1928, completed his apprenticeship as a photographer in Wroclaw and finally Munich became his hometown. Since 1950 he lived there and was firmly rooted. The Munich City Museum houses its most important pictures and has made them accessible to exhibitions time and again. Moses had the most important figures of his time in front of the camera: Thomas Mann, Erich Kästner, Ilse Aichinger, Theodor W. Adorno, Otto Dix or Max Frisch.
