Description: Crime Suspenstories #22 CGC 5.5 Universal Blue Label Offwhite-White Pages Book featuring the following:- Classic decapitation axe cover Up for auction is a beautiful copy of Crime Suspenstories #22 CGC 5.5 EC Comic book from 1954. This is one of the most desirable and wanted pre-code horror book among horror and/or golden age collectors. This classic Johnny Craig ax decapitation cover was used in the Senate Investigations on Juvenile Delinquency and lead to that event's foremost sound bite. When asked by Senator Estes Kefauver if he thought this cover was in good taste, publisher Bill Gaines responded, "Yes, sir: I do. For the cover of a horror comic." Recently, a CGC 6.5 copy sold for $24,000 at an auction site! Eye appeal-wise, this copy is comparable to the 6.5 copy that sold. The front cover is pretty clean with great colors, no tanning or fading. The back cover has dust shadows on the edges and very light chipping at the left edge. Pre-Code horror books have been steadily rising up in value and has survived the great comic book crash post-pandemic! This book will continue to go up in value, especially during Halloween season where most PCH books sell for more! SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY PLEASE! No returns please since this book was graded by a reputable third grading company in CGC. No international shipping please due to the high value. Shipping is included with the buy it now price. Shipping only in the USA with tracking and signature confirmation. Any other questions, please ask. Thanks!
