It is the 3c Conestoga Wagon from the third transportation issue 1987 to 1994. They were the thirty eighth coil design added to the set. The 3c stamps were used as makeup postage with remaining 22c stamps for the 25c rate Apr 1988. The design went to press many times resulting the the 4 collectible varieties shown. The low gloss variety is becoming scarce and is the key to the set. We guarantee accurate identification. We occasionally use Brookman minor numbers like "s" and "v" for variety because Scott numbers are inadequate. Technically, 2252s is not a real number but useful to identify this variety (2252a with shiny gum). All four stamps are described by Scott as the color ''claret" but there are definite shade variations from dark to light. If you purchase 2 sets we will automatically ship pairs.
