Description: 1908 TAFT SHERMAN UTICA NEW YORK PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION POSTCARD This is a colorized photo postcard of (soon to be) Vice President James S. Sherman's residence in Utica New York. The postcard was created by the Utica Paper Company and was mailed by a Utica visitor and is postmarked December 5th 1908 which I assume was one month after Taft and Sherman were elected. The hand written message mentions the sender's visit to Utica and ends with "Hurrah for Sunny Jim" which was Sherman's nickname due to his genial personality. A great postcard that gives personal insight into the presidential campaign and the immediate aftermath. I love the early automobile parked out front that is festooned with US flags with Sherman's house sporting two more US flags.
